ORCID: Open Researcher and Contributor Identification
ORCID provides a persistent digital identifier that distinguishes you from every other researcher and, through integration in key research workflows such as manuscript and grant submission, supports automated linkages between you and your professional activities ensuring that your work is recognized.
Use ORCID to make sure you get credit for all your work, despite having a common name, using several aliases, or changing institutions. ORCID will help you keep track of your research, is used in many systems such as ScienCV, is collected by some publishers, and can be connected to your Duke Elements account (for your Scholars @ Duke profile) and your Duke Directory listing.
This quick introduction to ORCID will get you started!
