Have a manuscript or manuscript idea but not sure where to send it first? Curious about open access publishing? Worried about predatory publishers and how to avoid them?

This session will introduce tools and strategies to help you confidently navigate the world of academic publishing. Whether you're early in the writing process or ready to submit, you'll learn how to evaluate journals, understand open access options, and spot potential red flags. [NOTE: We offer online guides on these topics!]

By the end of this session, learners will be able to:

  • Access specific journal finder tools and identify a tool that meets their individual situation
  • Identify and criticize journal metrics to compare and contrast journals and their audiences
  • Pinpoint and verify red flags of predatory publishing.
